Senior Con 2025: Más Salud, Más Vida

The first annual “Más Salud, Más Vida” Senior Con ’25 brought together seniors, caregivers, and community partners for a day full of learning, movement, and connection at the Americana Hotel in Nogales. With over 100 attendees, the event was a beautiful reflection of community spirit, highlighting just how strong and engaged our senior community truly is.

The morning started with “Registración y Cafecito,” where participants enjoyed coffee and traditional Mexican pastries provided by the Santa Cruz Training Program — setting a welcoming and familiar tone for the day ahead.

Throughout the day, participants joined interactive sessions on shingles prevention, common cancers in older adults, fraud protection, nutrition, and fall prevention. Wellness was at the heart of every moment — from a calming Tai Chi class to an emotional wellness session focused on self-care and mental health.

During lunch, attendees explored the community resource lounge, connecting with local organizations and services offering valuable support for seniors. Senior Con ’25 came to life thanks to the collaboration of so many incredible partners — including Mariposa Youth Coalition, Dependable Health Services, Futuro Insurance, the University of Arizona Prevention Mobile Health Unit, Nogales Police Department, SEAGO, and others who shared their time and expertise. A special thank-you goes out to all our presenters for their energy, compassion, and commitment to improving community health.

This event was made possible through funding from the Santa Cruz County Health Department to support wellness initiatives for aging adults, and was proudly organized by SEAHEC, Mariposa Community Health Center, and Circles of Peace.

As we look back on a successful first year, one message stands out: our elders are the heart of our communities — they deserve access to quality care, education, and respect.

Thank you to everyone who joined and supported Senior Con ’25. Here’s to más salud, más vida, and stronger connections in the years ahead. ¡Nos vemos el próximo año!
