Celebrating Growth and Connection: Entre Nosotros (Between Us) Curriculum Concludes with Heartfelt Ceremony

SEAHEC’s Community Health Worker team recently completed the Entre Nosotros (Between Us) curriculum at the Restorative Center of Circles of Peace, marking the close of six inspiring weeks dedicated to mental health, connection, and personal growth among older adults in Santa Cruz County.

The closing ceremony began on a lively note with a Just Dance activity that brought laughter and movement to the group. Participants then revisited key lessons from the sessions, while the UA Prevention Mobile Health Unit joined to share additional community resources and reinforce health education messages explored throughout the program.

One of the most moving parts of the celebration came as participants shared personal reflections about how Entre Nosotros had positively impacted their well-being. Many expressed deep gratitude for having a safe space to connect, learn, and feel heard—several even voiced interest in continuing with future sessions or similar workshops.

To keep the energy high, the event featured raffles, snacks, and a Kahoot quiz reviewing program highlights, followed by the presentation of certificates, mugs, and small gifts as tokens of appreciation.

The Entre Nosotros curriculum has also been implemented at the Nogales and Rio Rico Senior Centers, where SEAHEC Community Health Workers facilitated sessions focused on mental health, stress management, and the importance of social connection. Each session fostered meaningful dialogue and encouraged participants to share their experiences and strategies for emotional well-being.

At the Restorative Center, one participant’s journey especially stood out—initially reserved and hesitant, she gradually became one of the most active members in the group. By the final session, she was confidently sharing her reflections, and her family noted how her outlook and energy had transformed.

As SEAHEC reflects on this successful launch, we celebrate the stories of resilience, growth, and healing that where shared. The team looks forward to expanding Entre Nosotros and continuing to foster emotional well-being and community connection across southern Arizona.
