This year SEAHEC collaborated with the other AHEC partner agencies in the state of Arizona to put together a two-week summer camp from July 11-23, 2010 held in Flagstaff at Northern Arizona University. Each AHEC center chose five students from their coverage area to attend. The activities included
Leadership Development Skills, Writing Skills, College Budgeting, Community Health Issues and presentations.
The focus on nursing included a presentation from the Yavapai College on their nursing program, and a health career fair with various presentations from health professionals including Physical Therapy, Registered Nurse, Acupuncture and others.
Students also camped out for a weekend at the Centennial Forest where they also learned about survival skills and First Aid. Students received 3- college credits for attending this camp. They kept daily journals of their activities and wrote about what they enjoyed the most. This summer camp also offered 3 college credits for students that attended.
