Mount Sinai Med Students Visit SEAHEC

Mount Sinai medical students made their fourth annual visit to Nogales in March, to learn about rural health care, and to provide community service.  The students are part of the Medical Students Making Impacts (MSMI) program at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, NY.  The group is led by Dr. Jonathan Ripp and Dr. Rainier Soriano who volunteer their time each spring break to conduct educational trips to Nogales, AZ.

Cochise College Health Science Fair a Success

On March 30th over 200 high school students attended the Nursing/Health Science fair at Cochise College in Sierra Vista.  Some of the presentations and hands on activities were Simulated Blood Typing, HIV Simulation Lab, SIMS Demonstration, CNA Competition, EMS Vehicle Tour, Sierra Vista Campus Tour. Senator Lopez Visits Nogales on SEAHEC Invitation

 senlopezseahecstaffOn Friday March 23, 2012, Senator Linda Lopez visited Nogales to learn about health care priorities in Santa Cruz County.  After serving South Tucson for 11 years, the senator now represents Santa Cruz County, due to recent redistricting. Last winter, Hannah Hafter, SEAHEC Program Coordinator, met Senator Lopez at the Legislative Health conference and invited her to visit her new district to learn about local health care services and priorities.
