In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Southeast Arizona Area Health Education Center (SEAHEC) has launched a scholarship fund for high school students to honor the memory of its long-serving former administrator.
On April 14-16 2010, students from the SEAHEC Health Career Club at Nogales & Rio Rico High School attended the Arizona HOSA Spring Leadership Conference at the Doubletree Hotel in Tucson. At this event over 1,000 secondary and post secondary students participated health profession skills competitions in areas such as Clinical Nursing, Dental Spelling, Dental Terminology, Medical Math, and many more. A new federal grant is providing an exceptional opportunity for Arizona’s border communities to work together to address their health priorities and needs.
Southeast Arizona Area Health Education Center/SEAHEC has been awarded an $83,919 grant from HRSA, the Health Resources and Services Administration, to develop Redes Sin Paredes (Networks without Borders), a collaborative project of health organizations along Arizona’s border.
