Since 1985, SEAHEC has been working to expand the reach of health-related services to those places where medical resources are most limited or lacking.
Located in Nogales, Arizona on the U.S./Mexico border, SEAHEC serves a 16,500 square mile tri-county area in which multi-cultural, multi-lingual and multi-national issues play a substantial role.
SEAHEC improves the quality of health services through supporting health workforce development in southeast Arizona rural and medically underserved communities.. We do this by —
- Growing our own: encouraging young people with rural and culturally diverse backgrounds to pursue health careers that can benefit their communities.
- Broadening horizons: assisting students in health professions to learn about and experience the value of working in medically under-served areas.
- Nurturing quality: providing continuing education opportunities for doctors, nurses, emergency medical personnel, and other health care workers who serve rural and under-resourced locales.
- Cultivating collaboration: bringing together people and organizations that share a common commitment to protecting the health of our region.
SEAHEC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by voluntary Board of Directors.
